unsuccesful attempt, made it maybe 45 minutes in, I think if I'd watched it in highschool I would've been hooked but to watch it as a 26 year old was chilling- should I try again?

3/11 Update: Many treasures to be found, for 12 days Margery suffered visions of every manner of religious man showing her their penises and she had to have sex with all of them and, against her will, found it "delectable". She thinks these visions are sent by the devil but Jesus reveals that he's the one who caused her to suffer the visions, oop!

Also her husband fell down the stairs and the people in the town say she should be tried if he dies because of how she denied him and she prays for him to stay alive and he does but he has brain damage from the fall and Margery takes care of him.

3/9 Loooove this crazy lady, so taken with her. Want to make a tv show about her. The relatability and real feeling and silliness makes 600 years seem very small. Maybe I will start wearing white and publicly sobbing. Already not having meat or sex and am planning a pilgrimage lol.

And now paraphrasing, the husband is like, okay I'll agree to be chaste with you if you sleep in the same bed as me and pay my debts (unclear if these are monetary or spiritual lol) before you go to Jerusalem and start eating and drinking with me on Fridays again like you used to (cause she's been fasting on Fridays)

And she's like I don't know if I can do the Friday thing, let me talk it over with Jesus

and Jesus is like yes totally, I only told you to fast in the first place so you'd have more leverage to negotiate chastity

and so Margery agrees...

"Then said her husband: — ‘As free may your body be to God, as it hath been to me.’

The bangs are pissing me off but I love the mom's costumes, all light blue and pink, they remind me of the dress from Barbie Swan Lake.

I do love a classic Cinderella story and the cottage was cute but I think Benedict is so dumb to have not figured it out yet and also I wish they let him be more gay

which I read partially for the first time up in the Poconos a bunch of years back. It was very perfect because I was helping hay the field and I could fantasize the way Levin does about the purity of pastoral labor lol, does feel very good to be sweating in service of something that needs to get done, farmer tourism, getting sunburned and covered in dirt, jumping in the pool afterwards and having a lemonade.

Anyways I'm starting to slow down because I really don't think I care much about anyone except Anna and Kitty, I want to spend more time at the spa in Germany where Kitty falls in love with Varenka and God.
